Comfort is King – Great Hybrid Between Open and Sealed Buds

If you find traditional silicone-tip earbuds uncomfortable or "stuffy" after an hour, the soundcore Liberty Buds are exactly what you’ve been looking for. I moved to these from the Liberty 4 NC, and the difference in long-term wearability is night and day. The Highlights: Exceptional Comfort: Unlike the Liberty 4 NC which seals deep in the ear, these use a semi-in-ear design. You don’t get that "underwater" pressure feeling, making them easy to wear for an entire workday without fatigue. Smart Control Updates: One of the best changes Anker made here is the triple-press touch control. On previous models, I’d accidentally pause my music every time I adjusted the fit for comfort or put them back when they slipped. Now, you can map your main controls to a triple-tap, effectively ending accidental triggers. Effective (but Realistic) ANC: Because these are semi-in-ear, they don’t provide a total vacuum seal. The noise cancelling is "good enough" for most environments—it handles engine hums and fans well—but don't expect total silence. It’s a deliberate trade-off: you lose a bit of isolation to gain a lot of comfort. Design: They look sleek and premium. The build quality feels sturdy, and they don't look bulky when worn. The Verdict: If you prioritize raw noise cancelling above all else, stick with the Liberty 4 NC. But if you want earbuds you can actually leave in your ears for 4+ hours without soreness, these are the better choice. They strike a perfect balance between modern features and ergonomic design.

Almost there

Very good and clear sound, good noise cancellation ( this is clearly the best in the semi inear segment), fab battery life and easy controls. Pretty impressive but still the fit is not good. Tried the fins provided but still not good. I will try for few more days and decide

Half-in-ear buds with ANC and AI features.

I’ve had Soundcore P40i in-ear wireless earbuds for a while and have been really impressed with their performance, but despite trying the full range of silicon tips I’m never completely confident that they’re not going to fall out when I’m exercising. This isn’t unique to the Soundcore earbuds; perhaps I’ve just got funny shaped ears. I was keen to try these Soundcore Liberty buds, with their half-in-ear design. Out of the box, the charging case has premium appeal, with its satin finish and sliding lid. Also included in the neat package is a usb-c charging cable and a range of silicon “fins”, which securely locate the buds in the ear. These are simple to change (following the illustration on the packaging) and I’ve found the largest provide a secure fit for me whilst remaining comfortable. A QR code on the box takes you to the Liberty bud site, with user manual, “how-to” video, FAQ’s and a link to the Soundcore help and feedback section. This information is also available on the Soundcore app, which I was already familiar with. Set-up was straightforward in the app, which includes the option to personalise the buds using HearID - listening to a number of sounds and selecting your favourite (A or B) to build a preference for bass, mid-range and treble. The buds offer three modes - Normal, Transparency and Adaptive ANC; I was pleasantly surprised at how effective the noise cancellation is, given that the buds don’t deliver an air-tight sear in the ear. As is typical with this type of ear bud, control of functions and settings is via a number of different taps on the right or left bud (of course settings can also be accessed using the app). The Liberty buds also offer real-time AI translation capabilities - I’ve not been able to try this feature yet, but with a holiday planned for April I’m looking forward to making use of this capability. At time of review, the Liberty buds are on offer priced at under £60, which seems like terrific value.

Very comfortable earbuds with the ear fins securing them in well, great sound and excellent ANC...

The ‘Soundcore Liberty Wireless Earbuds’ from ‘Anker’ are a set of mid-ranged Bluetooth earbuds, designed to deliver excellent sound reproduction and effective active noise cancelling. Initial set up (like most earbuds of this nature) is quick, simple and pretty self-explanatory. Just pair them up to your phone or whatever device you’re using, and away you go. It really is as simple as that. When being worn, the earbuds feel very comfy in your ear, and not too cumbersome or invasive within your ear canal. They’re also very lightweight, so although you’ll feel them in your ear (like you would with any earphones or earbuds), however they’re not overly noticeable, especially after a minute or two wearing them. Look-wise they do stick out a tad. Not overly so, but they’re not particularly subtle like some earbuds can be (if you know what I mean). This is mostly down to the piece that extends down from the earbud which includes the four of the four microphones for picking up the surrounding noise to cancel out. Unlike other earbuds, this pair doesn’t use silicone ear gels to allow for different sized ears. Instead, you have different sized ear fins which extend upwards from the earbuds, to hold the earbuds in place against the upper curve of your ear. These are amazing! They work really well – far better than the silicone ear gels, which I find don’t hold earbuds in that well. These ear fins are also really comfortable to wear and super easy for you to swivel the earbuds into place – lodged in by the upper curve of your ear. As with most modern earbuds, these earbuds come with a handy hard-plastic charging case. To charge the earbuds you just pop them into the designated little slots within the case, and they’ll instantly start charging. The case holds charge before it too needs charging up. You can of course, have the case plugged into a power source (using the USB cable that comes included) whilst the earbuds are charging – in effect charging the earbuds straight from the source. Sound quality wise, in my opinion these earbuds are excellent. Ok, so they’re not absolute audiophile quality, but to be honest, they’re not a million miles away. There’s a rich, deep bass which seems to be supped up a tad and they’re able to reproduce complex layers of notes without any particularly noticeable muffling or amalgamation. Acoustic tones are also very well-rounded and natural sounding. The active noise cancelling is excellent too. The earbuds adjust automatically depending on if you’re indoors, outdoors, or on transport etc. When on public transport (such as a busy train when commuting) these really do their thing – giving you incredible blocking out of any outside noises so you can really hear your music (or whatever) without any outside disturbances. All in all, I’ve been incredibly happy and impressed with the earbuds. I use them for walks and commuting, which really works well for me as the noise cancelling they offer is excellent. Highly recommended.

So comfortable

Absolutely amazing pair of earbuds. The only drawback is not incredibly strong ANC, but it's still a lot better than I expected for a pair that aren't full in ear buds. Sound quality is great, but the comfort is what wins it for me, and with the wings they don't budge either. Literally the buds I have dreamt of having.
