eufy PoE NVR Security System S4 with 2× Bullet-PTZ-Cameras and 2× Bullet-Cameras

The Eufy NVR is in a league on its own. The AI functionality in the bullet- PTZ cam (the cam with the 2 lens) is amazing. It spots the movement and homes in on the target, and follows it aound. The NVR can also built your own database of individual. The bullet cam works fine but seems like the lens are of much lower quality then the Bullet-PTZ cam. Why, because it is readily affected by LED lights. Image quality suffers at night when LED lights are on. Not so for the bullet-PTZ cam. My old wyze cam is unaffected by LED lights in the same image. I did have one of the external Bullet-PTZ cams fail after a month of use. But, Eufy Home tech support was great and eventually replaced the cam. All in all, it's a great NVR and the AI functionality is out of this world. I just purchased the now available T-8907 wifi module for the NVR for testing.

What an amazing system they have come up with... I feel like Tony Montana sitting back watching all my home cameras. The big issue I have is the fact that it is wired, this was a difficult setup. Once you get past that, this is unmatched in quality and ease of use. The picture is crystal clear, and the stream rate is lightning fast! Only thing that could be better would be wireless.

Quick note. Ensure you open your packages without tearing them apart just in case you have to send anything back for returns. Set up was very easy. It took literally 10 minutes to test everything as a hookup before doing the actual install. Test the system BEFORE actual install. After testing, it took me an hour on each camera. That includes running cable and drilling/fastening/adjustments on each camera. The cameras are very robust, responsive and reliable in cold and hot climates. This is my 2nd system install from Eufy. The entire Eufy systems are very easy to follow!!! Follow the directions and read through BEFORE touching anything!!!

Today I'm reviewing this Eufy NVR Security System,It's 8 channels and comes with four cameras. The domes are actually two channels each so you would be using up 6 channels if you use this full system.I've been using this for just a little over a week now. One of the great things about this is it is easy to setup. I think it took me 10-15 minutes to get everything set up (Running ethernet WILL take a while and is highly dependent on YOUR situation). When you plug the cameras in, it automatically detected the camera (the ones in the box), it added it to the system and checked the firmware, then automatically updated the firmware. It has been a really great experience.The NVR itself, which I don't have an easy way to show you right now (installed in a difficult to access space). It looks really nice; it looks very premium. Very simple to setup just a couple of cords to plug-in. The wizard driven process to set it up was very easy.I've used other Eufy cameras in the past, the battery operated motion activated kind, it is the exact same app, Eufy Security, and it just took a few moments to add it to my account and now and I view both sets of my cameras, the motion triggered connected to my home base, and the 24/7 recording of this system. So it's a very unified experience which is a high positive in my book.The main downsides I'm seeing: I do still need to keep my home base, so it's still two separate systems, but managed with one app. i have three of these cameras, 2 PTZ and 1 bullet camera, and with those three cameras, 5 channels going, I get maybe a week of recording with the default settings. I believe you can lower it down, reduce the resolution or frame rate to get a little more recording time. With the included 2TB drive you get about a week (of recording). You can put in a larger drive for longer recording.It's a great system. It is power over ethernet, so you will have to run ethernet cords. This is NOT a battery powered system and it does record all the time.I've been super happy with this, and it is much better than the system that this replaced.I would recommend this, it has great quality and is simple to setup and use.I'm rating it five out of five stars.Pros- Includes everything you need: NVR, cables, 4 cameras and on-board storage- Same app as my other Eufy motion-triggered battery cameras- Great quality videoCons- Included 2TB of storage is less than a week of 24/7 recording on default settings- My non-eufy PoE cameras were not auto-added to the NVR (I was replacing them so, not a big deal for me)- Does NOT 'manage' the battery Eufy Cams. (not a Base Station)

Update #2:After another system update all issues stated in the first 2 reviews have been addressed and fixed. Eufy support was thorough and was checking back with me to make sure everything was working well. Upgraded to 5 stars.Update:Eufy responded to my last email finally and offered to set up a phone call. I replied and have not heard back as of yet. Been a few days. There was an update performed and for the past 3 days the system has been working it seems. I did notice that the PTZ cams can lose a subject if the subject crosses a bush or tree. The location I need the camera is in a sidewalk and we have one 5ft narrow bush. The camera tracked the subject from the road and then entering our sidewalk up to the bush. When the person crossed behind the bush and up onto our porch the camera was already reset to the original position towards the road. I'm suprised the 1 second crossing behind the bush would throw it off that easily. The person was on our porch literally right behind the camera. If the cam stayed tracking we would have had a close up of their face. That was a huge fail. Upgraded to 4 stars for now due to support responding.Original: As for now I'm not sure I'm happy with the system. The ptz camera quality seem to be very good. The bullet cams are not impressive. When things work I'm happy with it. The problem is every day the NVR or cameras randomly stop sending notifications to my phone. It's all 4 cameras in this system that go quiet even with movement. I've gone back and forth with support via email since Eufy NO LONGER HAS A PHONE NUMBER FOR SUPPORT. They're working on overseas hours so if you have a major concern expect to wait until the next day to get a response. This is VERY frustrating. We have serious security concerns where this system was installed. There's been multiple days that our older wireless cams go off and send us a notification but this "New improved state of the art " system does not. Support stopped responding to our concern after they didn't have an answer to why the notifications aren't happening. Every single day we need to restart the system when it stops sending notifications. Our main concern is when it stops sending notifications at night which is when our greatest concern for safety is. Just today we had a delivery and our older eufy cams worked well.. this system was completely silent. No notifications at all. Delivery guy walked right in front of the camera. Unacceptable. Eufy if you're reading this bring back phone support and respond to our emails!
